Historic Preservation & Town Square Zoning
The Town of Jackson is rezoning the Town Square Character District to implement the desired future character of the Comprehensive Plan. Design requirements may be considered to protect the western character of this iconic district. The Town and County seek to expand the scope of this community conversation to explore how we define western character and what tools can be implemented to promote historic preservation community-wide.

Natural Resource Protections
Action: Update the Natural Resource Overlay (NRO) and other natural resource protection standards. Goal: Contribute to the short and long-term protection of healthy habitats in the community by designing standards based on updated natural resource studies and mapping.

Town Hillside Regulations
Action: Update Town hillside regulations to incorporate improved landslide hazard information and implement best practices for identifying, avoiding, and mitigating hazards in hillside development.

Action: Assess parking supply and demand in Town of Jackson Residential and Commercial Areas (Outside of Downtown Core).

2020 Employee Generation by Land Use Study
The Town and County seek a new Housing Nexus Study that will document current links between the construction of new commercial and residential development and the employees generated by the development.
