Project Description.

Samuel Singer, on behalf of Wyoming Stargazing, has proposed a collection of changes to the Land Development Regulations (LDRs), including to Sections 5.3.1 Exterior Lighting Standards, 5.6.2 Sign Standards, and 9.5 Defined Terms. The objective of the project is to make Teton County, Wyoming eligible for International Dark Sky Community designation, by the International Dark Sky Association.

September 6, 2022: Board of County Commissioners Approves Dark Sky Amendments

At their September 6, 2022 hearing, the Board of County Commissioners APPROVED of the proposed LDR amendments

These changes have made Teton County eligible for International Dark Sky Community designation, by the International Dark Sky Association. Applicant, Wyoming Stargazing, plans to facilitate bringing Teton County through the designation application process.

August 22, 2022: Planning Commission Recommends Approval

On the August 22, 2022 the proposed amendments were recommended for approval by the Planning Commission with no modifications. The application will go before the Board of County Commissioners on September 6, 2022.

July 14, 2022: Draft LDR Amendments Available for Public Review

Samuel Singer on behalf of Wyoming Stargazing and County Planning staff have collaborated and released a recommended Land Development Regulation (LDR) amendment. These proposed changes will be presented to the Planning Commission on August 22, 2022.
